Your company website is the first chance you have to make a good impression on visitors. If your site is promoting everything at once, it's not an inbound website. Instead, think about how you can get the right content to the right people at the right time.
That's what we learned from Angela Hicks, Senior Inbound Professor at HubSpot at last week's #GulfCoastHUG meetup.
Angela's presentation then detailed how to create an inbound website from setting goals to defining the conversion process by crafting the best calls to action, landing pages and thank you pages. We took part in a "blink test" to determine the effectiveness of landing pages from design to language, and that's a useful exercise to perform on your own landing pages.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's mind was blown at the part of the presentation on thank you pages and Angela's "pro" tip on not letting search engines index your thank you pages for search engine results. How many of you have put Angela's advice to work and improved your thank you pages in the past week?
If you need a refresher, here's a link to Angela's presentation in SlideShare.
It was so great to welcome Angela from Boston with a room full of engaged people interested in inbound marketing here in Northwest Florida. Thank you for joining us!
Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 17 from 5:30pm-7pm at the Pensacola downtown branch of the library for our 4th quarter speaker. More details coming soon!
