It was great to see returning faces from our very first meetup as well as meet new marketing friends. For our second #GulfCoastHUG meetup, we gathered for a discussion on buyer personas.
SPROUT Content Co-founder Debbie Williams walked us through what a buyer persona is, why we need them to be successful in marketing and how to create one. She discussed new research from Google that shows who we think are searching online for our products and services may be different than the actual researchers. Think millennials!
We also discussed how to set up buyer personas in HubSpot (which is super easy to do) and actually walked through an exercise of creating a buyer persona for one of our attendees. Jeff from SkillQ got a nice piece of HubSpot swag for being our guinea pig!
If you missed the meetup, or need a refresher on what was covered, view and/or download the slides from Debbie's presentation Buyer Personas: Marketing in the Voice of your Buyers, Not your CEOs
Our next HUG is set for Thursday, October 15 from 5:30pm-7pm at the West Florida Library's Main Branch again. We will have a wrap up of HubSpot's annual conference INBOUND. Don't miss your chance to get the CliffsNotes version of this inbound marketing conference!
If you are attending INBOUND and would like to share your insight, email Andrea at firstname.lastname@example.org. Don't worry, you won't have to put together a formal presentation (unless you want to), we're just hoping to have an informal and open conversation about what we learned at INBOUND with our local marketing colleagues.
Keep up with all things #GulfCoastHUG through our website and social channels:
See you in October!
